Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport
110. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if an Irish Rail district engineer in Limerick Junction will review line speed on the Ballybrophy to Limerick line in view of the fact that a continuous welded rail track is now in place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30730/20]
111. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if an additional midday service on the Ballybrophy to Limerick rail line will be considered in addition to the morning and evening trains; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30731/20]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 110 to 112, inclusive, together.
As the Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. However, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
The matters raised are, in the first instance, for Iarnród Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's questions to the company for direct reply.
Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
