95. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the person or body that will develop specific guidance for large purpose-built event facilities as outlined in the living with Covid-19 plan for level 1; and the way in which the relevant sectors and event organisers obtain such guidance for large indoor and outdoor events. The COVID19 crisis has had a devastating and unprecedented impact on the sectors supported by my Department.  The public-facing and audience driven nature of the arts, culture, tourism and sports means that each time there is an escalation for any county in the Level applicable under the Living with Covid Plan those sectors are impacted. The Government is acutely aware of these challenges.

Covid-19 has had a devastating and unprecedented impact on the sectors for which I have responsibility.  Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport are integral parts of the fabric of society, supporting economic activity, physical and societal well-being.

The Living with Covid Plan provided for the development of sector specific guidelines for the organised events, events in large stadia and indoor dining.  My Department is in discussions with relevant stakeholders and the Department of the Taoiseach to examine how best to provide safely for these matters whilst ensuring public health and limiting the spread of Covid-19.
