309. To ask the Minister for Rural and Community Development the funds granted to villages with a population of under 1,000 persons under the town and village renewal scheme by each local authority area between 1 January 2017 and 1 September 2020, in tabular form; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The specific categorisation of towns and villages requested by the Deputy is not maintained by my Department. Towns and villages applying for funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme are recorded under 2 categories:

- Category 1 - settlements with a population of up to 5,000; and

- Category 2 - settlements with a population of between 5,001 and 10,000.

Lists of all of the towns and villages that have received funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme since it was introduced in 2016 are available on my Department's pages on the gov.ie website.

There is a stipulation in the scheme that at least 60% of funding be targeted at towns and villages with a population of less than 5,000 in each Local Authority area.
