Carer's allowance (CA) is a means-tested social assistance payment made to a person who is habitually resident in the State and who is providing full-time care and attention to a child or an adult who has such a disability that as a result they require that level of care.
I can advise the Deputy that the number of CA applications received in my department from
1 January 2018 up to 31 August 2020 are as follows.
Year | Number of Applications |
---|---|
2018 | 20,117 |
2019 | 19,402 |
2020* | 12,211* |
I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
