To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of individual service cancellations on PSO funded Bus Éireann services scheduled to have operated from Sligo bus depot since 1 March 2020; the estimated number of passengers affected by these cancellations; the steps Bus Éireann plans to take to reduce the number of service cancellations at the depot; the number of service disruptions as a result of mechanical failures at same depot since March 2020; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. However, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
The issue raised is, in the first instance, an operational matter for Bus Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply.
