To ask the Minister for Finance if the rate of excise applicable to alcohol sold for consumption on licensed premises will be reduced to help struggling businesses to survive in the foreseeable future; if the full-year estimated adjustments as a result of such a measure in the current trading environment will be provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy will be aware, it is a long-standing practice of the Minister for Finance not to comment, in advance of the Budget, on any tax matters that might be the subject of Budget decisions.
