To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if the National Archives hold the original applications of former RIC officers to two committees that sat between 1922 and 1923 and 1935 to inquire into resignations and dismissals from the force due to nationalist sympathies; the reference numbers for the files; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I am advised that the National Archives does not hold the original applications of former RIC officers to two committees of inquiry into resignations and dismissals from the force due to nationalist sympathies that sat between 1922 and 1923 and 1935.

The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has advised my Department that it holds a number of old pension files that may be relevant to the Deputy's question and a search of records is being carried out. The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform will make direct contact with the Deputy to report the findings of that search.
