231. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his attention, or that of his predecessor, has been drawn to a potential conflict of interest that arose regarding the way in which the review on essential driver training conducted in 2019 conducted by a company (details supplied) was in fact reviewing its own report commissioned by the Road Safety Authority; the other consultancies and or companies that were considered to carry out the review; if a tender process was followed in order to establish whether the company was the best positioned to conduct the review; if a contract exists between the RSA and the company in respect of essential driver training reports and or reviews; if he will consider opening a new stakeholder engagement process in respect of essential driver training; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
