217. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his plans to change the small public service regulations to accommodate persons whose SPV expires to include persons whose licence expires after 31 December 2020 in view of the adverse impact which Covid-19 has had on their businesses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The regulation of the small public service vehicle (SPSV) industry, including SPSV licensing, is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013.

Given the role of the NTA as regulator, I have referred your question to the Authority for direct reply to you. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within 10 working days.
