To ask the Minister for Education and Skills her views on a matter regarding a student (details supplied) who has been denied a dyslexia dispensation for the leaving certificate despite an independent assessment that verified that they were quite dyslexic; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations.
In view of this I have forwarded the Deputy's query to the State Examinations Commission for direct reply to him.
