905. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the position on extraditing persons to states such as Lithuania, which are documented by international human rights organisations as having severe human rights violations of their prison populations; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The High Court is the competent authority in this State for matters and decisions in relation to extradition and surrender under the European Arrest Warrant. It is entirely independent in the discharge of these functions.

Any person who is before the Court in relation to such matters is entitled to legal representation and may bring any issue they consider to be of relevance to their case to the Court's attention.

It would be entirely inappropriate for me as Minister to make any further comment on this matter.
