Officials of the National Parks and Wildlife Service of my Department investigated an incident in Mealagh Valley, Bantry, Co. Cork in relation to potential breaches of the Wildlife Acts. As the matter is still subject to a live investigation by my Department I am not in a position to comment further at this time.

There are a number of other agencies who may have an interest in the works carried out at this site and it is my understanding that both Inland Fisheries Ireland and Cork County Council have also made visits to the site.
