Invalidity pension (IP) is a payment for people who are permanently incapable of work because of illness or incapacity and for no other reason and who satisfy the pay related social insurance (PRSI) contribution conditions.

The department received a claim for IP for this lady on 27 November 2019. It was awarded on the 11 January 2020 and her first payment issued to her nominated bank account on the 30 January 2020.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
