To ask the Minister for Health the details of the contracts which the HSE has with medical device companies; the devices covered under the contract; when the contract commenced; the duration of the contract; the value of the contract if possible; if the company or supplier is still in business; and if not. when they ceased operating in tabular form. 527. To ask the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to instances in which the HSE has contracts with medical device companies that went out of business, but due to the nature of the contract hospitals cannot acquire new medical devices and have to persevere with devices which are obsolete, damaged or pay disproportionate amounts of money for their repair which often ends up being well in excess of the cost of a new device or machine; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
