485. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the number of suckler calves born in each of the past ten years by county; and the number of farmers in the sector by county in the same period in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10161/20]

The information requested by the Deputy is provided in the following table. It should be noted that:

- Beef calves are defined by breed of dam.

- Farm numbers are defined as any herd that contained at least one suckler cow in the defined period, therefore this data is not confined to specialist beef farms.

Calf births by county as well as a host of information on the profile of the national herd are available on my Department's website at the following link:
