Ireland’s new mental health policy Sharing the Vision – a Mental Health Policy for Everyone2020-2030 has been approved by Government and is scheduled to be published in the coming week. This policy was developed following a process of research into international innovation and best practice in mental health and an extensive national consultation of over 1,000 service users, family members, friends and carers and other stakeholders. Sharing the Vision comes at a time when Covid-19 has impacted so negatively on the nation’s mental health. It advocates protecting health and wellbeing, getting appropriate care quickly and seeks that services provided are quality assured and safe.
