The key factor for determining the level of staffing resources provided at individual school level is the staffing schedule for the relevant school year and pupil enrolments on the previous 30thSeptember.
Staffing arrangements for the 2020/21 school year are available in Circular 0018/2020, which has been published on the Department website. The staffing arrangements include an appeals mechanism for schools to submit a staffing appeal under certain criteria to an independent Appeals Board.
The first meeting of the Primary Staffing Appeals Board will be held in April. The closing date for receipt of appeal applications is 27thMarch 2020.
