Rebuilding Ireland will deliver over 50,000 new social homes by the end of 2021 through a combination of Build, Acquisition and Leasing. In 2019 alone, 10,000 new social homes will be delivered utilising these methods, including 6,545 build homes delivered by Local Authorities nationwide, in partnership with Approved Housing Bodies.

My Department publishes comprehensive quarterly statistics in a range of formats across multiple platforms. On the Department's website, comprehensive data on social housing delivery can be viewed and downloaded, including information on build by Local Authorities and Approved Housing Bodies, as well as information on social homes delivered through Part V and Acquisitions. It should be noted that the process for tenanting these homes, and the day to day re-tenanting of existing stock, is solely the responsibility of each local authority.
