The Department of Rural and Community Development was established on the 19th July 2017 to promote rural and community development and to build vibrant sustainable communities across the country.
The Department’s gross annual allocation since 2017, as detailed in each Revised Estimates, is set out below along with the corresponding staffing numbers.
Since establishment the Department has undertaken required recruitment to build the corporate and policy making capacity which will enable it to deliver on its mission. Appropriate resourcing has taken place as expected and the numbers below are inclusive of staff within the Charities Regulatory Authority.
