794. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the number of lambs under one year of age slaughtered here in each of the years 2016 to 2018 and to date in 2019; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [44438/19]

Data is collected by the Department in relation to the category of Spring Lambs, defined as sheep that are under 12 months of age that are both born and slaughtered within the same calendar year,

The following table shows the number of spring lambs which were slaughtered in the Republic of Ireland from 2016 to date in 2019.
