231. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the status of the construction of a permanent building for a school (details supplied); the reason for the delay in progressing the project in view of the fact that planning permission was granted in December 2018 and construction is not due to commence until quarter 2 of 2020 and in further view of the fact that the school has been more than 20 years without a permanent building; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The procurement process for a bundle of projects is due to commence in the coming weeks with the publication of a contract notice to determine a short-list of interested contractors.  The permanent building for the school referred to by the Deputy is part of this bundle of projects.

The procurement process (and the associated tendering to short-listed contractors) for this bundle of projects will be ongoing during Q4 2019 and Q1 2020.

It is anticipated that construction of this school building project will commence in Q2 2020.
