425. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht further to Parliamentary Question No. 723 of 2 July 2019, if the 1997 agreement made with boatmen (details supplied) in County Kerry will be honoured and included in the conditions of their P5 licences; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The historical agreement referred to was between the parties whose names are included on the document. My Department is not (and was not) party to this document and it has no status with regard to the Department’s governance of the lakes. This has been repeatedly communicated to the person referred to in details supplied.

As outlined in my previous response, the individual in question has not provided all the required documentation in the tender competition checklist. The Department has been in ongoing contact seeking the documents required and the applicant has been afforded time and opportunity to lodge the correct documentation. When the correct documents, including the requisite fee are lodged, I will then make a decision on whether to award the licence.
