The purpose of my Department’s July Provision Grant Scheme is to provide funding towards an extended school year for children with a severe or profound general learning disability or children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) enrolled in recognised schools.

The eligibility criteria for the July Provision Grant Scheme 2019 is set out in the Department's Information Note on the scheme which was published with the application forms and is available on the Department's website at .

In the case referred to by the Deputy an application for home based July provision was received in the Department. The application was refused as it was outside the terms of the scheme. An appeal, with supporting documentation, was received in the Department on 11^thJune 2019. The appeal was considered and refused as the child in question does not have the required diagnosis and therefore does not qualify for the July Provision Grant Scheme.

The parent was notified of the decision by letter on 17^thJune 2019.
