148. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection in the situation in which a person (details supplied) works 20 hours per week, if the balance of their income derived from social welfare will continue to be allowed as previously; and if she will make a statement on the matter. If a person secures part-time or casual work (up to and including 3 days per week), they may be entitled to a Jobseekers payment for days in which they are not employed. The person concerned must demonstrate that they meet the other conditions that apply to qualify for a Jobseekers payment, for example, be available for and genuinely seeking work and in the case of Jobseekers Allowance, satisfy a means test.

I trust this clarifies matter for the Deputy.
