To ask the Minister for Health the reason the new nursing unit being proposed for Clifden, County Galway, to replace Clifden hospital and St. Anne's nursing home will have fewer than the existing number of beds in the two homes combined; if he is satisfied that the proposed number of beds will be adequate to meet requirements; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
