The tender for the design of the new research vessel, to replace the current Celtic Voyager, was published on 6 November 2018 in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). 

Eight tender submissions were received by the deadline of 7^thDecember and, following evaluation, the tender for vessel design has been awarded by the Marine Institute.I understand from the Marine Institute that the design process is currently underway.
