567. To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs further to Parliamentary Question No. 312 of 13 March 2019 and 1180 of 26 March 2019, the reason Tusla maintains that the national weekly costs for private providers of children’s residential services are set at €6,000 per placement per week when the most recent invitation to tender for these services (details supplied) advertises costs of up to €13,250 per placement per week. Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, is responsible for the welfare and protection of children. This includes the provision of children's residential services for which Tusla requires to purchase services from private providers. The tendering for and purchase of residential placements from private providers is an operational matter for Tusla. I am referring the Deputy's question to Tusla for direct reply.
