To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of prosecutions initiated in respect of roadworthiness infringements against HGV operators in each of the years 2016 to 2018; the number of such prosecutions against out-of-State operators; the country of origin of each; the number of convictions secured; and if he will make a statement on the matter. This is a matter for the Road Safety Authority. I have referred the question to the Authority for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response is not received within 10 days.

To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of roadworthiness inspections of HGV operators carried out by the Road Safety Authority, RSA, and An Garda Síochána in each of the years 2016 to 2018; the number of prosecutions arising from such inspections; the number of such inspections and prosecutions concerning out-of-State operators for the same period; the country of origin of each; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
