To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his views on recent reports by four UN rapporteurs that atypical worker permits for migrant fishery workers were leaving those workers vulnerable to serious abuses in view of the fact that the permits tie workers to individual ships and their owners; and if he will make a statement on the matter. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his views on the fact that the atypical worker visa scheme in the fisheries industry leaves fishery workers liable to exploitation as indicated by an organisation (details supplied), the State Department of the United States of America, the Council of Europe and the reports of four UN rapporteurs; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
