To ask the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence the number of staff in his Department that attended a summit (details supplied) in Dublin in 2017 and 2018, respectively; the cost to his Department or agency under the remit of his Department; if his Department or an agency under the remit of his Department undertook advertising or sponsorship in respect of the summit; the cost in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Secretary General of my Department was invited to attend a dinner in January 2017, which was associated with the event referred to by the Deputy. No costs were incurred by my Department for this attendance. There was no attendance from any agency under my remit, nor was there advertising or sponsorship undertaken by my Department or any agency under my remit, in the timeframe indicated.
