222. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if his attention has been drawn to the situation of a playschool (details supplied) which faces eviction from its premises; if his attention has been further drawn to the fact that when a school moves into its new building in April 2019 there will be no room available on site for the playschool; if he will engage with a group and the board of management of the school to find a solution to the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department is aware that the play school referred to, by the Deputy, is operating in the main primary school's existing accommodation. This appears to be an initiative of the main primary school and the Department is not party to this arrangement. The Department is constructing a new permanent replacement school for the primary school in question and the project is currently on site.

The Department’s priority is the provision of accommodation for children of school going age. The Department does not have any remit for the provision of a building for the play school in question.
