185. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his plans regarding extension of the short hop zone to Drogheda, County Louth, on the northern railway line in view of the fact that the National Development Plan 2018 to 2027 investment in the DART expansion programme has made provision for extending the metropolitan DART network for the greater Dublin area as far as Drogheda; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for the regulation of fares in relation to public passenger transport services. I have, therefore, referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
