145. To ask the Minister for Health when the reduction from €2 to €1.50 in the prescription charge for medical card holders over 70 years of age will be introduced; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2106/19]

As part of Budget 2019 I announced a reduction in the prescription charge for medical card holders aged 70 and over, from €2 to €1.50, and a reduction in the monthly cap for this group from €20 to €15.

The implementation date is 1 April 2019.
