87. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the steps she will take to prevent illegal trapping of hares in view of recent reports from An Garda Síochána of persons travelling to south County Kerry to illegally trap hares with an intention to selling the hares on for coursing events; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Any allegations made to my Department about illegal trapping of hares will be investigated where possible. If there is tangible evidence of such activities I would urge that it be made available to my Department.

My Department has no information as to the incidents in Co. Kerry mentioned by the Deputy.
