1076. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection if outstanding illness benefit payments, including arrears due, will be paid to a person (details supplied); if these payments can be made to their bank account as previously requested; if cheques issued can be cancelled in view of the fact that the person did not receive some of them and cannot cash them in Poland; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Illness Benefit payments for the person concerned are currently being made to her nominated bank account. Some payment by cheque have not been received by the person concerned and this matter is being followed up with her whereby a Form of Indemnity has issued to her for completion. When this is received back in the Department it will allow the cheques not received to be replaced.

I trust this clarifies matters for the Deputy.
