1044. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the reason an illness benefit payment for a person (details supplied) has ceased; when payment will recommence; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [54096/18]

The Illness Benefit claim for the person concerned is paid up to date and any arrears due have been issued.

If the person concerned remains ill and unfit for work, a further medical certificate should be submitted to the Department in order for further payments to issue.

I trust this clarifies matters for the Deputy.
