211. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the position on illness benefit certificates; if the majority of general practitioners are using the new forms; if general practitioners that used old forms and photocopies have received payment; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Illness Benefit certificates continue to be processed as normal and payments made to eligible people. Following on from consultation with GPs it is expected that any agreement between the GPs and the Department will cover all certification. The Deputy can be assured that the Department will continue to support and engage with GPs during the period of transition and operation of the new system.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
