I confirm that my department received an application for carer’s allowance (CA) from the person concerned on 18 July 2018.

Carer's allowance was awarded to the person concerned on 23 November 2018 with effect from 19 July 2018. The first payment will issue to his nominated bank account on 13 December 2018.

Arrears of CA due for the period 19 July 2018 to 12 December 2018 are currently being processed but cannot be released until after 12 December 2018. The person concerned will be notified when they issue.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
