128. To ask the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the number of persons as a percentage classified as underemployed out of the number employed in each of the years 2005 to 2017 and to date in 2018, in tabular form. [50040/18]

CSO data on underemployment is only available from 2008 onwards. The number underemployed as a percentage of employed was 4.7% in Q3 2008. It peaked during the recession at 8.0% in Q3 2012 and has since fallen to 4.9% in Q3 2018.
