To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the reason his Department made no comment on the Northern Ireland Warrenpoint Harbour Authority EIA screening consultation for new in-lough disposal of dredged material from the harbour in Carlingford Lough rather than the current location 22 miles out at sea (details supplied). My Department responded to the Marine and Fisheries Division in the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (NI) advising that the main issues arising are potential impacts on aquaculture activities on the southern shore, which is a matter for consideration by my colleague, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine.  In responding, my Department noted that observations were already sought from that Department.
