215. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the procedure to be followed in the case of a person (details supplied); if she qualifies for an extra payment or disability allowance in order to ensure she receives a basic level of payment in view of the circumstances; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Illness Benefit claim for the person concerned has been processed and she is in receipt of her full entitlement under the Illness Benefit scheme.

Any person who has an urgent financial need can apply to the Department's Community Welfare Service and may be entitled to an additional or supplementary payment. This can be done by contacting the local Intreo Centre.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
