182. To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if she is satisfied that enough supports are in place for children in a new direct provision centre (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [47468/18]

I wish to inform the Deputy that Direct Provision comes under the policy remit of my colleague, the Minister for Justice and Equality. The matter to which the Deputy refers is more appropriately directed to that Department.

Children living in Direct Provision are in the care and custody of their parents. With the introduction of mandatory reporting under Children First, Direct Provision centre managers are required to report any concerns about the protection or welfare of children residing in their centre, to Tusla, the Child and Family Agency.
