262. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the date on which the current extension of the direct provision contract at a location (details supplied) expires in 2019; and if no decision regarding the future of the current residents will be made until the current tendering process is completed and new contracts are awarded in early 2019. Following extensive discussions with the contractor for the Accommodation Centre at the Towers Hotel, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, an agreement has been reached to extend the current contract until mid 2019.

Quite separate to that extension, a public procurement competition is currently ongoing for premises within 40km of Newbridge. It is a matter entirely for the contractor in that premises to make a decision as to whether to enter that competition.

It is anticipated that the competition will be concluded no later than January 2019.

No decision can be made regarding the current residents until that process is complete.
