1078. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection to outline the reason for the delay in issuing a weekly illness benefit payment to a person (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [45209/18]

The Illness Benefit claim for the person concerned is paid up to date.

She is currently certified until 5th November 2018. If she remains ill and unfit for work, a further medical certificate should be forwarded to the Department as soon as possible in order for payment to continue to issue.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.

The Illness Benefit claim for the person concerned is paid up to date.

She is currently certified up to 16th November. If she remains ill and unfit for work after that date, she should submit further medical certificates to the Department to ensure payments can continue to be made.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
