The Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Bill 2018 was approved by Government on 27 September, published on 01 October. Second Stage of the Bill was concluded in the Dáil in October and Committee Stage will commence on 06 November. The key provisions of the Bill are the same as those of the draft General Scheme approved by Government and published on the Department's website ahead of the Referendum, and of the updated Scheme made public in July.

A significant amount of collaborative work is ongoing with the HSE to prepare for the implementation of the expanded service for termination of pregnancy by January 2019 in the community and hospital setting throughout the country.
