49. To ask the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence if the potential of the Air Corps being redeployed to provide helicopter support services for the Irish Coast Guard has been examined; and if a business case or cost-benefit analysis will be requested in order to examine this potential. [41444/18]

The Irish Coast Guard operates under the aegis of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and has overall responsibility for the provision of Search and Rescue services within the Irish search and rescue region. As such, this is a matter for the Minister of Transport, Tourism and Sport.
