My Department continues to work with haulage industry representative organisations to assist the sector. The haulage sector plays an important role in our economy and I recognise that it faces difficulties in the current environment. My Department is aware of the budget proposals submitted by the Irish Road Haulage Association. It should be noted, however, that any such budgetary provisions are ultimately a matter for the Minister for Finance.
