The table below gives details of the number of vacancies on State boards under the remit of my Department.  A process is currently in place with the Public Appointments Service to appoint suitably qualified people to the Boards of the Arts Council,  the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the National Museum of Ireland.  It should be noted that one of the vacancies on the National Museum of Ireland is to be filled by staff nomination following a process set out under Section 19 of the National Cultural Institutions Act 1997,  that vacancies on the Board of Foras na Gaeilge are filled on a 50:50 basis by the North South Ministerial Council,  and that the enactment of the Heritage Bill will have the effect of extinguishing the current vacancy on the Heritage Council.
