The purpose of the rent supplement is to assist with reasonable accommodation costs of eligible persons living in private rented accommodation, where they are unable to provide for their accommodation costs from their own resources and do not have accommodation available to them from any other source. According to the records of this Department the person concerned has not made any contact with the office administering their payment. If the person concerned is experiencing difficulties they can contact the office administering the rent supplement payment by telephone at 01-6732155 or by email at RentsKildareSouth@welfare.ie.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
