To ask the Minister for Finance the cost per year of the hybrid VRT rebate; if the cost is being retained in the expenditure base for 2019 in view of the fact that it is scheduled to expire at the end of 2018; his plans to extend the rebate; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am advised by Revenue that the amount of VRT remitted/repaid for new and used Hybrid electric and plug-in Hybrid electric vehicles is provided in the following table. Please note that figures provided for 2017 are provisional and may therefore be subject to revision. Figures for 2018 reflect data for January to May only.
